VLC is often described as “the only media player you will ever need,” but is that really good? In my opinion, it is.
I started using VLC in the early 2000's when downloading TV and movies became popular. I burned files into disks and often had trouble playing files in Windows Media Player. A friend suggested that I download VLC and that it would solve all my problems, without having to download the codec or find out what the codecs are.
I downloaded VLC and was happy to work with all kinds of formats, read hot CDs and DVDs, had no problems with subtitles, and was easy to use. Since then, it is one of the first programs I download when I get a new computer.
So, what about VLC makes it so good?
The first thing is that VLC is 100% free. No premium versions have additional features. Free download and you will be able to watch videos, webcams, streams, record your screen, listen to music, and more.
As an open source program, developers can create downloadable plugins and additional software features. Among other things, this allows it to easily integrate with other online video programs and services.
There are many customization tools that can be used to edit video or audio playback. There are also a variety of skins you can download to make your player look unique.
Features:
Plays almost all video and audio formats
Increase volume to 200%
It can search, download, and download subtitles
Create a playlist
Play ZIP files without downloading them
It can play torrent files while downloading
Search and add album covers
Even with all of the above, VLC is not perfect. Some advanced tools, such as converting a file from one format to another or recording your own screen, are much more difficult than they should be.
